We are excited to announce a new feature on our blog. We declare Friday "What We Love." We would like to share our favorite looks/things/yummy treats/inspirations of the week. It is a way for both of us to catalog some of our most beloved treasures with all of you! Since the weather has been so lovely in San Francisco, we are eagerly awaiting Spring. Here are some of our favorite things about the upcoming season.

1. 212 Spring 2011 Collection

Scott Walhovd and Anthony Castro are the masterminds behind 212. For the Spring 2011 collection, they were inspired by Sofia Coppola's Virgin Suicides, a movie about the lives of five sisters during the 1970's. Their effortless style translates well to the simplicity of the Spring season. The chambray skirt is absolutely lovely.

2. Somewhere

Speaking of Sofia Coppola, the imagery in her new movie Somewhere is quite beautiful. Sofia Coppola's versatility makes her one of my favorite directors. Although Somewhere departs from her past works, there is an underlying stability in how she directs the film. The imagery is vivid and bright, much like Lost in Translation. And we love that about her work.

3. 1970's Inspired Hats

We must admit, we love hats. Jen's brother is the Art Director for Goorin Hat Company. She has (quite happily) amassed quite a collection of seasonal hats in addition to her vintage favorites. ASOS Spring 2011 collection features this beautiful wide-brimmed hat. It is very similar to the 1970's inspired hats seen in the Spring 2011 collection of Tracey Reese. It goes quite perfectly with a long maxi dress or skirt, don't you think?

4. Oxfords

In our opinion, Oxfords may be one of the best shoes ever. These menswear inspired shoes always seem to catch our eye and capture our hearts. Oxfords look good in heel or flat varieties and can be worn with jeans or a skirt. Maybe it's all the perfect little details that this vintage looking shoe has, or maybe it's the versatility. Whatever it is we can't get enough of the adorable oxford for spring. And could they be any more perfect in those gorgeous pastel candy colors? We think not.

5.Winter Kate Spring 2011 Collection

We're not sure we should admit this but we just adore Nicole Richie's line Winter Kate. The glamorous silhouettes and fabrication help create looks that are reminiscent of 1970s boho darlings. Over-sized sunglasses and chunky jewelry complete the look. Her spring line is full of floral prints, lace-edged mini slip dresses, and super silky blouses. Maybe best of all, we think it wouldn't be too hard to find some pieces like this in your local thrift store and skip those high end celebrity prices.

6. Nail Polish

Nails, nails, nails. They are a tiny part of your over all look but they can add so much! We love the huge variety of colors that can fit any mood and any outfit. Nail polish is such a fun and relatively inexpensive way to change up your look. Rebecca from The Clothes Horse always has killer nails as does Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere. For spring we love light pastel tones, and glitter polish! There are a ton of tutorials out right now on how to layer shades for truly unique looks. If you haven't yet, it's time to go forth and paint!
