I've always wanted to shoot fashion photographs at night, but the problem of lighting deterred my attempts. After dinner and a glass of wine, Noelle and I left on the formidable adventure of night photography. I think our first try proved quite fruitful. After galavanting around my neighborhood and taking many failed pictures, we happened upon this tree and its surrounding bushes. The lighting was magical. The photographs perfectly capture the eerie mood of the night and are reminiscent of low tech shots from vintage polaroids.

Rachel :

Wow, these look lovely! I really like the contrast you got from shooting at night; it really looks fantastic.

Bryce :

These are amazing! Especially the one with the reflection in your necklace. IT looks photoshopped! So cool!
And your outfit totally fits the eerie vibe put off by the photos. Kind of a 70's witchy thing.

Carys :

Wow, these are so dramatic and amazing! I must try some nightime outfit posts, but I always struggle too with lighting. Hopefully I'll be lucky and find some as good as yours. Lovely outfit too!

Annebeth :

oh yes these totally works, the last one is so fairytale like!

Jenni :

These pictures are awesome--they have kind of spooky, 70s feel, like Stevie Nicks is off camera somewhere spinning around. I love your coat and the floral skirt!

Annebeth :

trust me, you NEED to watch Mad Men! I am very picky when it comes to series and movies, but Mad Men is the best series I have seen in my whole life. The characters, the storylines, the fashion: it's all there. Watch it!!! :D

and when it comes to cooking: I post recipes sometimes :) I love italian cooking! I have a great italian cookbook, I especially love cookbooks with lots of pictures. Risotto, pasta, salades, I love it all. The best tip I can give is to use ingredients that inspire you and go heavy on the flavors. Nothing's as depressing as a saltless, drab concoction.

we just had the risotto with tuna and pinenuts tonight :)

Those shots in the ivy are amazing and kind of spooky! I love the idea of shooting at night - it gives a really different feel to the look. Just a shame my poor little camera isn't up to it :)
