Young Pilgrims

Emeryville, California is a little over one square mile of urban flatlands and landfill wedged between Oakland and Berkeley. Packed within the tiny area are an abundance of regional parks and trails that follow the Bay's edge. It is one of my favorite places to take a stroll with my cup of coffee in hand, ready for the occasional adventure with Matty.

Sunday was a gloriously beautiful day. Flowers were in bloom and the sky was an eerie gray. The ground was muddy (see last picture), but the grass was so vibrant that I couldn't resist running around. And I think these photographs are a fitting contrast to my adventures with night photography.

Feeling somewhat nostalgic, my outfit choice is inspired by my childhood obsession with Blossom. Her floral dresses and hats--such quintessential 1990's staples--somehow have made it into my wardrobe over the past year or so.  And I am quite happy about that.

Hey Jennifer, thanks so much for stopping by my blog. I'm sure if you have basic sewing skills, you could make that clutch. I am SUCH a beginner when it comes to sewing!

Your blog looks so fun. What beautiful pictures. I'm loving that bright yellow bag!

The Thriftaholic (Leilani) :

I love how this set of photos turned out, the floral pattern of your dress with the field of flowers is so perfect!

I totally had a Blossom Hat too, a black one with a huge sunflower. It's all coming back as the 90s are 'vintage chic' now.

Signorina Christina :

Wow, great photos and great outfit! The 1990s are definitely going to start becoming more retro. Someone handed me a flyer for a 1990s club night.
