Half Drunk Promises

I've been lucky enough to eat lunch outside at work this week, surrounded by beautiful flowers. It made me stop and really appreciate the little things in life, like sunshine on your skin and strawberry lemonades. I wore my big turquoise necklace today because turquoise supposedly carries the moon's energy or female energy. Since silver also carries the moon's energy, it is doubly powerful when paired with this beautiful stone. I couldn't get enough of that silver so I also put on my pentacle ring and ankh ring that I've had since high school.

I really love the print on this skirt and the colors are some of my favorites, especially when put together. This hat from the vintage fashion expo is the perfect cover up until I get find the time to get myself to the hair salon. I'll probably just do another red, but I have been admiring all the lovely pastel and dip dyed hair-dos I've been seeing around. Do you guys have any suggestions?

I too have been loving all the pretty pastel hair coloring people seem to like so much...not sure if it would work on me, but I think you could pull it off really well. :)

Mmm. I always appreciate strawberry lemonade. I appreciate your hat, too. I like your hair how it is now, but I know what you mean. Those dip-dye styles have been calling my name too...

Lydia :

Dip dye!!

Pretty Things :

fabulous colours, love the print on the skirt, did not know that about turquouse or silver - thanks for sharing.

I do like the pastel dip dye look

JennaStevie :

I love the colours here, that skirt is really pretty. Stopping and appreciating the little things is definitely necessary sometimes!

Stef / Diversions :

Looking lovely ♥

I think with your complexion and pretty hair any colour will suit you :)

Mind you, my soft pink wig has taught me that people aren't anything as open minded as I'd like. You might find strangers will voice their opinions about you if you go for an unnatural colour. Still worth it though, but I can take mine off when I've had enough.

Mizdragonfly :

I'm big on the floral patterns this Spring - love the skirt :)

christina :

beautiful colors matching your beautiful eyes! ;)
ohh the little pleasures in life indeed...its so easy to forget about them... thanks for reminding me :))

Rachel :

Beautiful colors! I always have trouble deciding what to dye my hair...it just goes back to normal after a week or so, though. :'D

Eating outside is one of my favorite things about the warm weather. I love sitting outside downtown & people watching in the sunshine. (: This outfit is really pretty. You look awesome in blue and I love the bold pattern on your skirt. I'm excited to see what you do with your hair! xo

you are beautiful. (like always of course. <3)

The Thriftaholic (Leilani) :

LOVE all the shades of blue going on in this one outfit and of course the blouse highlights your eyes wonderfully!

I've been really into silver jewelry lately, especially anything with a Southwestern/Native American influence so I'm definitely digging your necklace.

Annebeth :

all the shades of blue are wonderful :) you should totally go for a crazy dip dye, would look awesome with your feminine retro style!

Megan Hattie :

This is so lovely, so springy despite all of the moody blues! I love your hat! I also love eating outside :) simple pleasures!

blakejacobsen :

Your posts brighten my day. So authentic, everything you wear! I love it.

Julia Topaz :

I think I just looked through your whole blog! you're both so beautiful and I absolutely love your style.

Christy :

I didn't know that turquoise is supposed to carry female energy; that's really interesting (and makes me want to pull out my favorite turquoise bracelet a bit more often). And I've had my ankh necklace since high school as well (originally purchased because of a character in Neil Gaiman's "Sandman" series, which I was obsessed with)!

You look beautiful; saturated purples are really lovely against your skin. And I know what you mean about pastel and dip-dyed hair! I'm especially smitten with blonde hair that fades into pink at the ends.

islabell :

i took a wee break from blog land this week and i missed this fabulous get up. I love that skirt with. You paired it perfectly with that blouse and then all black. Your wee oxfords are devine.

Glad you got some outside chill time this week. What are you up to over the weekend? We should grab coffee or something
