Everything Counts

Depeche Mode are an English electronic band that formed in 1980 in Basildon, Essex. Some of my fondest memories involve the "People are People" album, a karaoke lounge, and a cocktail. Not only are Depeche Mode brilliant musicians, but their music videos are artistically rich. "Never Let me Down Again" and "Personal Jesus"(the still below) were both directed by  by Anton Corbijn, one of my favorite directors. He is also the mastermind behind Control, a film about the life and death of Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis.
Inspired by Corbijn's collaboration with Depeche Mode, my outfit features the band's iconic wide-brimmed black hats and small framed sunglasses. This ensemble is a staple during my day-to-day activities around San Francisco. And on side note, my brother painted the mural behind me. A little brother/sister art/fashion duo.

I am kind of obsessed with any electronic band from the 80's, and DM is no exception. And Control was AMAZING. Now I want to go watch it again...

love the necklace :)

Roz :

I've been 'educating' my little brother in my own taste for early 80s music, including Depeche Mode - so how great to find a sister/brother artistic combination here. I love the way you've used the amazing backdrop to offset your outfit. As for the attention to detail in standing in exactly the right spot for handbag (purse) to link with the location - it's all perfect!

Marisa Noelle :

I absolutely love that you did an outfit inspired by Depeche Mode (love them)!! You definitely hit the mark on it and turned out looking beautiful:) Very cool mural and awesome bag!!!

Annebeth :

delightfully funky and I love Depeche Mode!!

Lea :

I love Depeche Mode :) Even though I'm a little young for them. My parents used to blast their music all through the house when I was younger.

I love this outfit through and through. Especially the necklace and your bag. So loovely.

Nikki :

Eclectic Flair :

Lydia :

That may be my perfect summer dress.

Christy :

Your brother painted that mural?! That's incredible! You must come from a creative, artistic family. Your post makes me want to put on some Depeche Mode; I haven't really listened to them much, and certainly not in a while.

I've been thinking I'd like a little white dress for the summer, and this one really fits the bill. Your outfit is sweet, southwestern, and edgy, all at the same time! Inspiring as always. <3
