I have a collection of brightly colored blazers that are often reserved for night occasions and cocktail hour. Some are more fancy than others (including a fully sequined number from the 1970s), but this one is by far my favorite. The vibrant floral pattern adds a pop of color that makes almost any outfit special. I generally like to pair down my bright accessories with black, and this mini dress is quite appropriate for the aesthetic of the outfit. I've had this dress for years and accidently hemmed it a little too high. I won't part with it even though it is probably too short for comfort. I can't even bend down without showing the world my goods, so I very daintily ask others to kindly pick up dropped items. I need to use a measuring tape more often before making such rash sewing decisions! Does anyone else accidently cut their thrifted dresses too short!?

Aryn :

Lovely outfit (I adore the shoes!) I find that when I alter a piece I always undercut rather than overcut thus the item is still too big, hahaha!

That jacket is so fun and cute! I definitely have cut off a thrifted dress too short. I just change the way I wear it - and I can use it as a top tucked into a skirt now too!

Balloons make the best photo props and you found an amazing art mural to match your outfit. I've been digging the way you've been mixing black with colour lately, it's definitely the perfect way to dress for gallery openings and cocktail hours.

Are you in the Midwest now? Can't wait to hear about your Michigan adventures.

TheLovelyHunter :

Jenni :

I love a good blazer, and this is no exception. Man, don't you hate hemming accidents? I once hemmed one of my favorite dresses into a shirt. I've been afraid to hem things ever since. :D

Teresa M. Cuevas :
