After many hours of travel and a two hour layover in North Carolina, we arrived in Ann Arbor. Welcome to our new home for the next two months! Our summer sublet is the Martha Wilder House, a registered site with the Ann Arbor Historic District Commission. Built in 1850, the house features a lovely front porch with tomato plants, intricate crown molding, and a brick fireplace. Wilder purchased the property from the Ann Arbor Land an Investment Company as part of the Edgewood Subdivision of the township. Some internet sleuthing led me to the original land decree for the property, signed by Ms. Wilder herself. Stumbling upon the listing for the sublet was a rather serendipitous experience, allowing Matty and I to enjoy a piece of history while exploring the Midwest.

I somehow managed to fit all of my belongings into two suitcases for the summer (with the help of Annalise). However, after one day here, I surpassed my luggage weight restrictions for my return flight home with newfound vintage goodies. I found this lovely 1950s dress at the Ann Arbor Salvation Army along with the vintage jasper brooch. The dress reminded me of summertime and I couldn't pass up the opportunity to wear it around town.

Love the outfit! I actually live and am from Ann Arbor and love the houses around the area. There are so many places you have to go to while you're here, such as Ashleys, the Arb, UMMA, Kerrytown and the Farmer's market, and so many other places!! Just downtown in general is awesome!
