Starboard

One of the things that I am going to miss most about San Francisco is the ocean. There is nothing better than laying on the beach and listening to the sound of the waves. Although the water is often too cold to swim, I enjoy watching beach-goers and the passing sailboats on the horizon. Much of my fashion and design inspiration comes from the seaside. To me, there is something timeless about nautical-inspired clothing that I return to during the warmer months.
I have amassed quite a collection of seaside dresses and shirts, many of which I will leave behind when I travel to Ann Arbor this summer. Each piece is a treasured find, and this 1950s blouse is one of my favorites. The fit, the pattern, the color scheme- what's not to love? I paired it with an altered white pleated skirt and red sandals to complete the look. I was holding out until Fourth of July to wear this, but I found the perfect dress for the upcoming holiday!

Lovely! I love everything about this outfit.
I saw an anchor print romper from the 50s at a vintage store this weekend and wanted it so badly, but I refrained. I've already broken my shopping ban enough.
