The Boardwalk and A Giveaway

The Boardwalk

The final day of our trip was filled with swimming in Lake Michigan, beach campfires, and s'more roasting. This little beach boardwalk was a short five minute walk from our campground, and we enjoyed a relaxing evening exploring the lakeside and hunting for buried treasure on the shore. Lake Michigan was reminiscent of the Marin Headlands in the Bay Area. Since I dearly miss San Francisco, a day spent at the shore was a wonderful break. And there is nothing quite like a Michigan sunset!

I have a soft spot for vintage nautical dresses, especially ones with stripes and navy blue. I found this little gem at the local St. Vincent de Paul for only $5.00. I knew it was the perfect dress for our trip and stowed it away for the occasion. And I seem to have accumulated many handbags since arriving in Ann Arbor. Since I don't have enough room in my suitcase for all of my newfound treasures, I want to giveaway this vintage Philippines travel bag to one lucky reader.

Gorgeous photos as always, your trip definitely makes me want to visit more of Michigan especially with all the inexpensive thrift finds you keep posting!

It's a funny coincidence but my biggest adventure this summer was going on a 2-week trip to the Philippines to visit my mother's family in Batangas City. While it was extremely hot and humid there, I had a grand time visiting lots of 16th century churches, eating unusual foods like ube (sweet potato) ice cream and playing with wild litters of kittens. :)
