Vintage Addicts Anonymous

Southwestern skirt 1
I had a lovely lady date with Isla last week when we met up for coffee and thrift shopping on a gloriously sunny San Francisco day. First things first, we checked out a local vintage store called No Shop, and then into 4 Barrel Coffee for a quick pick me up. Next we started our thrift shopping tour...  Unfortunately for us, Thrift Town had been hit by the "crazy price people" and we found some great things but they were all way out of our budgets. There was a cute 1970s maxi dress, but it was $50. So frustrating!

After searching out a few more shops, with not much more luck except for some great sunglasses, we made our way to Rosamunde's for beer and (for me) vegan sausages. Before heading home we made one last stop at our favorite thrift store, where the drinks and our long day of shopping in the sun finally caught up to us. On the way back to my house we stopped in front of an empty building that Isla and I like to imagine as our future vintage store. Every time we walk by we peer in the windows and talk about how we would do it up, fix the ceiling and paint walls, where our office would be and what our displays would look like. One day it really would be lovely to own our own vintage store! What are some of your dreams and goals for the future?

Rebeccak :

tee hee! Love that post shop-couch-shot! Sounds like such a great day. I love this grey/blue combo.

Kirstin Marie :

Beautiful photos, you look lovely! $50 for a dress in a thrift store?? That's crazy expensive.

Llara is the Little Scribbler :

Aw, love the double picture picture! Cute. I'm coming to SF next year - maybe you guys might be nice enough to give me some pointers before I come as to where to head for thrifting!? I promise I won't tell anyone x

Casie Jean :

that skirt is wonderful, and I do love that necklace, too xxx

Kelly :

Ha, ha ... I saw these photos of these over at Isla's blog, but didn't recognise you because you had the camera in front of your face ... it all makes sense now.

Brooke :

Sweet skirt! The length is perfect.

Maria Ramona :

i hate those "crazy price people". they seem to work all over the place and I don't think they know that they're pricing things for charity, not for retail at Macy's. looks like you still managed to snag quite a few things though!

Kelsey Cole :

oh I am in love with your outfits! I wish there were more cute thrift stores where I live!:) you two have a wonderful eye for cute vintage!

Megan Hattie :

Love the print of your skirt, girl! It goes great with the bag! And I'd love to own a vintage store someday, maybe one that has some clothes I've designed as well :)

JennaStevie :

These photos are soo wonderful. Love that skirt so much, what a great print. I get frustrated when vintage pieces are super expensive!
That picture of you on the cough made me laugh, long (but good) day?

Amber Rose, Laughing With Broken Eyes :

It's so frustrating when thrift shops overcharge.. Some pieces are nice, yes, but in the end, it is used clothing.

Beautiful, by the way.

Dresses for Dinner :

I love that skirt so much! Your necklace is gorgeous too. If you gals ever opened your own store, I'd be there. In a second. After shopping couch photo...sums up your day perfectly.

La Fille D'or :

O h how fun! : ) I find it best to find affordable vintage items outside of the city. Some places like Pretty Penny in the East Bay are decent price-wise.

I would love to own/ or be part of a little vintage co-op shop one day, where we'd have lovely well edited items - cupcake parties and art shows- so yes if you need friends to start a shop let me know!

Amber Blue Bird :

that sounds like a perfect day just shopping and drinking :)

Annebeth :

I definitely need to check into VAA :D I'm a total vintage addict :( you guys look gorgeous, love your hair like this. And I hate overpriced vintage!

Nicole, Coco Maria :

It sounds like you two had a fun day! I hate finding a beautiful vintage dress and then finding out that its overpriced. Anyway, this is a lovely outfit. Great skirt!

Amie :

elanor, :

i LOVE your skirt! sounds like a fun day, but you've got me worried about thrift town now! that's usually a very cheap thrift store! :(

Caitlin :

gorgeous photos as always.

gee :

ahaha..i LOVE your couch photo.
i look like this 90% of the time i am done thrifting.
love your long skirt..i am so envious of your wonderful outing together. :)
have a wonderful week Annalise.

The Thriftaholic (Leilani) :

I'm loving your necklace & market-style bag. It sounds like you both had a great time even with the high prices. It's funny, I own the twin of the striped loveseat you're sitting on (I'm on it right now, hehe).

If my 'grownup dreams' don't work out I always joke about moving to Portland and opening up a vintage store/bakery/art gallery that would also have studio spaces available for artists. Sounds ideal, right?

armileen :

that is a beautiful necklace and dress! i love the whole colour scheme you have here with the backdrop!

thanks for stopping by! =)

SoFashionistica :

What an awesome time you two had! I bet it must have been very nice to have shared a lovely day with a lovely friend!

Pink Fox :

I love that necklace, it's gorgeous!! :) xx

Blue :

I would love to have my own little Café on day, one that doubles as a gallery. In some pretty place, shared with a few friends where people like to come for coffee and brownies..

Pretty Things :

You look so cute in that thrifted skirt! I really love the shoes too. Too bad one of your thrift stores got all expensive. I hate when that happens!
