Tucked within an alley in downtown Ann Arbor is a corridor filled with colorful graffiti and large art murals. I've wanted to explore the space for quite sometime, especially since I have a soft spot for urban art. Ever since I was younger, I can remember my brother- pen in hand-creating unique pieces on canvas and in notebooks. Today, he is has a well-known San Francisco street artist who paints cheeseburger-inspired paintings for fun. He just launched his website and blog to showcase some of his work. I am one proud sister!

Since the weather has been in the 90s, I was on the hunt for a pair of linen shorts. However, I must say, I loathe wrinkles. And these high-waisted shorts sent me into nothing short of a panic attack due to their abundance of wrinkles. It's like nails on a chalkboard.

Kuleigh :

So many colors! I love street art. This is a really neat photo shoot location. I love your outfit! The vintage frames pair perfectly with the white blouse and head wrap! Hope you're keeping cool.

Rebeccak :

My man is always suggesting more 'urban' scenery for our photos, so I showed him these. His response? No... those are still way too arty. I am now convinced he wants to take photos in smelly carparks.

Pretty Things :

beautiful shots, the colours are so vibrant. very cute outfit

Vanessa, Take only Memories :

Lovely outfit! And your brother's art is really cool!

Emily, Ruby Slipper Journeys :

Last time I wore linen shorts on the blog I wanted to put them on and be sure not to sit down until the photos were taken. Then I realized I was being ridiculous! You don't have very many wrinkles at all though!

This outfit and photoshoot are fantastic!

vanda :

ONE OF MY FAVOURITE OUTFITS & PICS!!!!!!

JennaStevie :

Great spot for the pictures! I love those shorts, especially with that top. Wrinkles are such a pain!

Heather, 29 Skirts :

I really like how linen looks (and feels), even if it's wrinkled. Those shorts are a great color! Also, the top is sooo pretty, and the scarf is adorable. Awesome summer outfit!

Kirstin Marie :

How awesome!! I just checked your brothers website, he's so talented!! I love the contrast of these photos..you look so delightfully vintage and sweet against the modern-esk graffiti. Love it!

Alexandria :

The straw bag is so eye-catching. I love the colors on you too.

p.s, Thanks so much for stopping by my blog. would you like us to follow each other?

Amber Blue Bird :

wow what an awesome backdrop. The artwork is brilliant. I feel you on the wrinkles. I cant stand them either unfortunately with linen there isnt much you can do about them.

SomeoneLikeYou :

I rather abhor wrinkles, as well! Anything that says 'polyester or linen' on the tag I try and stay clear of... You look lovely as always! ❤

Jamie Rose :

I'm loving the color of your linen shorts. I have a pair of black ones and I, too, hate how much they wrinkle. But that's just the nature of the fabric, so I just deal with it!

Myriam :

Ah, linen does get incredibly wrinkly...I think the trick is to embrace the wrinkles?

Love the graffiti and congrats to your brother. You look gorgeous!

I love your backdrop here! I think urban art is so fascinating. Your brother's work sounds really cool, I'm looking forward to checking it out!

I can see barely a wrinkle on those shorts! But I know what you mean- wrinkle-free linen, that is a million dollar idea :)

Katie :

So fantastic!!

whitemaskgirl :

Those shorts look really nice, and not much wrinkles on them, which I know can be an annoying thing with linen. I bought a pair of trousers in that material, only used them once. Never again I say.

Elyse (Give Me Bows) :

Ohhh this outfit is perfect, I love the headscarf on you! I cannot wait for summertime here so I can try this out with all of my outfits :) x

Jenni Wells :

Those burnt orange shorts are delightful! These photos rock. You look super hip.

janel :

Great pictures! Also love your outfit! Congrats to your brother, his artwork sounds fun!

Michal :

These photos are PERFECT! I love all the color and you look amazing. I just bought a pair of shorts that color, but they wrinkle really easily too. :/ I'm not a fan of ironing.

Ashley :

I'm really wanting a photo shoot in graffiti alley! Spectacular :)

The Thriftaholic (Leilani) :

I adore the neutral colors of your outfit set against the explosive backdrop-- is this alley a designated street art site? There is actually a graffiti wall in Chicago that constantly changes. :)

You look super adorable with your hair up and I'm envious of your sunglasses!

Ashley/ MILK TEETHS :

you're lookin all sorts of fly lady, those mustard shorts are really somethin special :)

Julie Del :

I LOVE everything about this!! And the wrinkles aren't so bad really!

Nicole, Coco Maria :

I feel like a broken record here, but you look amazing! Those orange shorts are wonderful, and I love your blouse. And don't feel bad, wrinkles on my clothes bother me too!

Two Happy Hearts :

such fun! you both look smashing :)

Courtney :

i really love the cropped lace top. so pretty. very cool photos too. i love finding cool areas like this around denver. good for your brother. i love it when people can take their passions & turn them into really cool alternative lifestyles.

MOUSEVOX VINTAGE :

can i just say how awesome it is that your brother makes burger inspired art? i'm a serious fan of the cheeseburger. jeff and i have this ongoing joke that i'm on the hunt for the best burger in the world because i always seem excited the most over a trying a burger at a new restaurant above anything else (my favorite, so far, is at monk's kettle in sf, in case you were wondering). i also really dig graffiti - it's the hieroglyphs of the future! of course, you look darling as usual. :)

le sorelle :

What beautiful photos! I love your shorts - and I didn't even notice the wrinkles! What an amazing artist your brother is, too - I love art like that - it really is so happy and fun! :)

Dresses for Dinner :

I love this alley! We have a similar (less cool) one here in Ohio. It's one of my favorite places to take photos. Your brothers art is pretty cool! Thanks for sharing his blog.

Lydia :

Love these pics, especially the first one. So cool. Also I'm going out of town this weekend and will be using my straw bag that is almost exactly like yours, so when I post pics you should check it out!

Lynn {hearted girl} :

this is what COOLNESS looks like! wow, how i adore the graffiti with your outfit and that stellar purse. the whole look is ridiculously rad. congrats to your bro on his launching, support from your fams is so awesome. i love the shout out you gave for him.

my mom always taught me the squeeze test before purchasing something new. you take it in your hand and hold it tight, let go and see how quickly the wrinkles fall out. sometimes it didn't matter if they stayed though, i'd still buy it and those shorts are all kinds of goodness. no regrets, right?! ♥

dusanabotswana :

Eh, summer weather is a perfect excuse to have wrinkles, don't worry! You look great! I love neutral-pallete-like but more fun with the white top & orange shorts. That alley urban art is awesome & so is your brother for following his pasion! Your bf also looks quite modely in that pic himself, aspiring style blogger...?
