Mad Hatter

IMG_4189
I haven't had many fancy occasions this summer. My summer uniform has consisted of dresses and sandals, with an occasional accessory and handbag. But when I found these lovely Ferragamo Bow Flats  on a recent thrifting trip, I knew I wanted to wear something extra special for a weeknight dinner outing. I just finished reading Lewis Carroll's Through the Looking Glass and have been particularly inspired by Wonderland imagery. I could see myself wearing this to a fantasy tea party with Alice and the Mad Hatter. And lucky enough, Annalise and I do have a tea party to attend in the next few weeks. We are very excited for a Sunday afternoon of fancy tea dresses and sweets at the Modcloth Mod Hatter Tea Party!

The Daily Fashionista :

Pretty outfit and location:) I love the empty beer bottle just sitting around. And Mad Hatter parties are so much fun. The last one I went to everyone dressed up as their fave character and then drank long island iced teas and smoked hookah. Pretty authentic;)

Heather, 29 Skirts :

Great inspiration! I love how it's Alice-esque but dark. The greens and blues in the top are gorgeous, and I love the large bow in your hair and AMAZING shoes.

Amber Blue Bird :

your outfit reminds me of a Tim Burton Alice. Love your hair bow.

whitemaskgirl :

So pretty as always. Got to love tea parties and I am so jealous you will go to one soon. I am sure you will have a great time!

SoFashionistica :

This is definitely a mad hatter outfit! The bowtie flats are so cute! I wish I could make myself wear white shoes, however, with my lack of keeping white-things-clean problem I cannot indulge in this desire. Oh well, I guess I will have to be content with seeing pretty white things on others.

Lydia :

Oh you look beautiful! I read "Through the Looking Glass" and "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland" consecutively, and wasn't a fan. The imagery and imagination are awesome, but I got kinda tired of reading a book about nothing and nonsense.

Elyse (Give Me Bows) :

This is absolutely lovely! I adore the top and the ferragamos, just gorgeous <3

dahhlayne :

I am LOVING that top!! It totally reminds me of something I'd see in The Phantom of the Opera. So darling. I can't stop staring at it. haha

Rosy (of Raindrops on Rosy) :

LOVE THAT TOP! It reminds me of my curtains....and nooooooo that is NOT an insult! I really love it. :)

Rebeccak :

Love the hat! I am terrible at accesorizing in winter... but in summer I just have NO energy for it at all.

Marisa Noelle :

Ok, wow!! Mad Hatter perfection all the way! Every little detail from the print on your top to the bows on your shoes is such so enchanting. The necklace and hat are both gorgeous as well:) Have a blast at the tea party!

Dresses for Dinner :

I love this necklace. It's wonderful and contrasts perfectly with the darkness of the outfit.

Maria Elyse :

Isn't everything Alice in Wonderland so inspiring? I love this Mad Hatter-esque outfit, but it's a bit darker and not so lighthearted, which I really like. Lovely, as always!
