As fall weather creeps in closer and closer I find myself reaching for the warm and cozy clothes in my closet. This awesome cocoon coat I've had for a few years after picking it up at an epic Urban Outfitters sale for only $5. It's got a nice big neckline, deep pockets and a chunky knit. The perfect thing to keep we warm on a rainy Sunday when Ashley, Jen and I ventured out to the Alemany Flea Market and then to Mission Cheese for brunch.
The velvet skirt takes me back to my grungier gothic days. Add with it a simple lace top, tights and boots and you're set. I used to carry my pet rat, MiseryWinter, around town with me, hiding in the sleeves of my jacket or sitting on my shoulder. I know that rats are not everyones cup of tea, but my little lady was such a sweetheart and was super smart too. Are there any other ratty lovers out there?
This is such a lovely outfit, I cannot believe you got that coat for only $5, so cool! You've totally inspired me to look through some of my old clothes too, I was a little mini mosher during my teenage years and I would love to see if I can style any of it into something pretty now xo
Can't say I'm a rat lover ;) But I love the idea of having a pet that you can carry around with you in your pockets! I'm more of a mid-size dog kinda gal I guess. I also love the coat. At first I didn't see it until I scrolled down a bit. The colors are great. I also like the velvet skirt, a lot.
I love that skirt! I have been lusting after a velvet skirt so hard. I like how you paired it over the gray slip. And I can't believe you scored that coat for 5!
I really like how you've paired the skirt and top together, the textures look so luxuriant. Also, I've never had a rat but I used have pet gerbils, so I can definitely appreciate rodents! I always wanted a rat when I was a goth, but sadly it was never meant to :(
This outfit is seriously amazing, I looove that jacket and the velvet skirt? Who could ask for anything better, so perfect for cool fall weather. I want to see pictures of this pet rat, rats in the gutter = gross, demostic pet rats = cute. xJennaD
i'm not a rat lover {especially after the one that found it's way into our basement last year}... but i love how well you pull off all the dark shades and still look so dainty & ladylike. it looks amazing on you!
I love rats! When i was in high school I had one named Ramona. I would wear hooded sweatshirts and she would ride around in the hood. She would also take a nap with me every day after school. I was allergic to her though so i always had welts from her crawling around on me and I couldn't touch my eyes after I'd handled her. She was so cute though.
so pretty and romantic, love all that velvet and black lace, ultra feminine chic! The blue coat is fabulous too. The length is just perfect for your skirt
ahhh i have seen those boots yes! thank you, they are pretty amazing. my plan is to just find some nice cat fabric and make up a whole wardrobe of cat clothing :) x

Your outfit is amazing. I love velvet so much! Once fall comes around all I want to do is dress like Wednesday Addams and eat pumpkin-flavored things.
I love every piece here! Everything looks great together. And what a steal for that coat.
Your velvet skirt is so gorgeous! <3 It goes so perfectly with your flame coloured hair!
