Twice a year, the Vintage Fashion Expo travels to San Francisco for a two-day shopping dream. I can spend hours wandering from vendor-to-vendor, carefully looking through each rack of curated garments. Pieces range from pre-Edwardian dresses to 1980s high-waisted jeans, offering an eclectic mix of fashion for any collector. Since I am a frugal shopper, I have been saving my pennies for this occasion since the summer. I often splurge on a few high-end items during the Expo, and this year was no exception. I came home with a 1970s leather Southwestern satchel, a 1940s black blouse, and a 1970s ascot button-down shirt.
Since the Vintage Fashion Expo calls for an especially fancy outfit, I wore this lovely 1930s hat, a Bavarian skirt (altered extra short), and a swiss lace blouse. The hat, a gift from Matty's step-mother, is one of my favorite pieces in my closet. The feather and pearl detailing makes it quite a rare piece, and I would gladly wear it everyday if I could.Skirt: Vintage, alteredShirt: VintageShoes: 1940s VintageHat: 1930s VintagePurse: VintageTights: American ApparelListening to: Master of None/ Beach House

You're definitely been rockin' the separates lately, I like that you brought in texture/pattern with the hat and skirt to the all black outfit. Also that is by far my favorite purse of yours!
Can't wait to see what you bought at the fair and how you style it.
What a wonderful hat! I love the Bavarian skirt as well!

LOVE your outfit (and the beautiful colour the house behind you is painted!!!)
That bag is amazing. Somehow you look perfect in that hat, not "costumey" at all the way it might look on some people. It totally fits you.
I love your skirt and that hat is so adorable!
That hat is just awesome! I really love vintage hats. I wish they were easier to incorporate into my wardrobe. You make it look so effortless with this outfit, though!
