Black and Tan

black and tan 1
I've started to collect these type of textured, colorful bags from the 1980s. So far I have about 4 bags in my collection. They all have different color combinations and special details. I love the way that they can give a rather simple outfit the perfect punch of funkiness. And surprisingly they can be fairly easy to find at thrift stores. This lovely skirt is another recent thrift store find. I think the color is just perfect for fall and of course the fact that it had pockets was a total bonus. My new hair cut and color is all thanks to Corinne at Estila salon. I feel like it was just what I needed to start off my birthday week.

Loving the shoes/booties! And, I still can't get over the great hair makeover. It really suits you. It IS fun to discover something in thrift stores before everyone else jumps on the trend and make the items scarce or pricey.

Sophie :

I love the buckles on the booties, they are so cute!

Your hair looks sooo amazing, I love the cut and the colour is so rich. This skirt is really wonderful too, any skirt with buttons up the front is awesome

The new hair looks awesome on you! I come across those bags all the time. (Mostly at church rummage sales for some reason!) the last one I had though my 98 year old great aunt said she liked it so much I had to give it to her. I'm gonna keep my eye out for you.

Jennifer King :

Pretty new hair! The color is fab and I love the bangs and serious swing bob look.

Mongs :

love that bag, boots and shoes, so vintage chic. The skirt is cute, very 80's especially the buttons in front. Very pretty pictures. And have I told you that your hair looks gorgeous? Nice color too.

Do you guys always thrift in San Frnacisco or do you go to other cities? I can never find anything really good.

That bag is so much fun. I carried a similar one this summer. It's multicolored bits of leather and dyed snake that my mom gave me. I love that you're collecting them.

Happy birthday!! That bag is super cool, and I think black and tan look so chic together. I bought the top you're wearing, too, only in a brick/rust color! I love the little bow and the seaming.
