The Innocent Fair

Blouse- 1960s Vintage:: Hat- A Fine Day for Sailing:: Skirt- 1960s Vintage:: Purse- 1950s Vintage
The Palace of Fine Arts was constructed for the 1915 Panama-Pacific Exposition. It was one of ten structures featured in the fair, which also included exhibits of Education, Liberal Arts, Manufactures, Varied Industries, Agriculture, Food Products,Transportation, Mines and Metallurgy and the Palace of Machinery. It is one of my favorite places to visit in San Francisco. My outfit is inspired part by Bernard Maybeck's architectural design and part by 1960s silhouettes. Dresses and blouses with intricate paisley patterns are my favorite pieces for the upcoming season. This lovely blouse is a recent purchase from Pretty Penny, a must-see vintage store located in the Rockridge District of Oakland.

This was one of my favorite things I visited when I was in San Francisco! Such a magnificent building. You look so amazing also. The colors are so rich in that blouse and I think that has to be the most unique suede skirt I've seen.

Nikki @ The Ginger Diaries :

Oh, what a beautiful outfit and such an amazing backdrop! I adore everything about these photos =) xo Nikki

Hannah :

Wow that building is gorgeous! I love that you are doing more posts about interesting places in SF. It's like getting to visit the city, which is fun since I've only been there a few times!

Caitie :

wow, absolutely beautiful pics! I also love the palace... it doesn't feel like it's in the city... it's so magical and I always feel like I'm somewhere far away.. it's a nice escape :). The colors of your outfit go perfectly with the location!

Some of the most beautiful blog pics I have ever seen, girl! The colouring and lighting are sublime...and that architecture just makes me weak in the knees. Love your turtleneck (lovely print) and the shape of that skirt!

SoFashionistica :

Oakland huh?! Well, let me just say that the owl necklace you are wearing is to die! I love the jeweled eyes, it's a bigger version of the one I had that got stolen from me along with other jewelry I had when they broke into my house. It's a very pretty piece of jewelry.

Ana :

I love your hat and top! So cute!

Virginie Lavallée Bélanger :

and all these photos are stunning... <3

Sarah :

Gorgeous backdrop, as always. I'm jealous of how darling you look in hats--I always love how they look but I never like how they fit my face. ANYWAY, all that to tell you that you look amazing (as usual).

mary van note :

such beautiful photos! I love this outfit. What's interesting about the Palace of fine arts was that it was meant to be temporary for the fair. the structure is super flimsy because they didn't use permanent materials!

Joyce :

The skirt is so cute and I love these pictures :)

"coy" colleen :

this captures such a quintessential san franciscan look, with the backdrop & especially the outfit. i miss this city!
