To me, Fourth of July is reminiscent of lemonade, picnics, camping, and swimming. To celebrate the Fourth, I donned patriotic colors and a vintage straw hat for a weekend spent camping in Guerneville, California. I always enjoy dressing for holiday occasions, especially when I can wear polka dots and sandals while exploring Northern California.
Besides enjoying the Fourth of July festivities in Guerneville, we spent a lazy Saturday morning canoeing down the Russian River and swimming along the way. During our trip back to the campsite, I spotted a bottle floating beside our boat. I fished it out of the water, opened the top, and much to my surprise found a note written from Matthew. I turned around (quite teary eyed at this point), and he proposed with this 1940s vintage engagement ring. I couldn't be more excited and grateful to build a life with my best friend. This is turning out to be quite a summer to remember!
